Grand Opening

Hi, I'm Laurie.

Welcome to my blog!

I have never done a blog before, but I decided that it was time to begin. In the incentivized freebie world, it seems like we all have the same questions when we first start. Now, I have only been at this business for a couple of months, I started where you are and I've asked the questions you want to ask. I have read and read and read. I have a pretty good understanding now of how all this works, and I am dedicated to helping you understand it as well.

First a little about me. Why listen to me if you don't know who I am, right? I am a stay at home mom, with 2 young kids (6 and 4), in California. We live near San Francisco, about 40 mins away. We are homeschoolers, Christians, but mostly just a regular family. My husband, Chris, works 12 hours a day at the GM/Toyota plant nearby. We have debt up to our eyeballs if one of us stands on the other's shoulders. My goal is to make enough money to pay back the debt, that's the major goal. Then, I will start socking away the money to start making investments so my dear husband can retire early.

Back to this freebie business, I want to help you be able to get a jump on all this without having to spend days/weeks reading like I did before you can start actually making good money. I have plans for several different subjects over the next few days, that I can write about and direct my friends here instead of trying to rewrite the same helpful things over and over.

My hope is that what I do here at Green Light will help you make sense of all of this before you have to spend a whole bunch of time trying to navigate the tens of thousands of posts at places like the "Free Lunch Room" (which I love). I get the feeling that most of you are like me, we really need to make money right now! We don't have any disposable income like for other opportunities where we need to buy inventory, or pay monthly fees. This is perfect for us, because anyone can do it, and we don't need anything but a computer and a credit card to start profiting!

When I first started this and I did something as simple as order a freebie and got PAID for it, my jaw dropped. It is actually for real, and normal people do really make money doing this! I have been looking for a way to make an honest at home living for 6 years now, ever since my son was born. I can't even tell you how much money I've lost trying different MLM opportunities, advertising expenses, ebay, etc. This is the first time in 6 years that I have found something, had a passion for it, and (most importantly) MADE MONEY!!!

I have always been looking for a way to make a living and be here for my kids at the same time and I have definitely found it. We're talking about a realistic income, not $5000/month (yet) but I look forward to breaking that barrier.

Please, please, feel free to leave any comments here. I am here to help you, whether or not we end up in a "working" relationship. I just want to spare you the long discovery process I went through before I figured this all out.

Thank you for visiting my new blog,

Laurie Johnson

What Offers Are Good?

This just in! FLR regular "morgansmummy" has just taken over the honorable task of keeping up the NEW and IMPROVED Black and White List of offers, called The Good, The Bad and The Ugly . So after you check here in this blog post, check out The Good, The Bad and The Ugly for even more updated info. Thanks morgansmummy!

Originally, this blog post simply gave credit to PJ (OneStepBack) from FLR for the black and white listed offers and then pointed to her thread for you to view, but she has since made the decision to not be responsible for keeping up the information anymore. (I think she was under fire from the site admin since it talks about cancelling).

So I have copied and pasted the most recent information I could before the thread was removed.
This is very valuable information for you. You can bookmark this post for later and refer to it whenever you are trying to decide what offers to do.

We still owe Mrs. PJ, OneStepBack, much gratitude for all the hard work she put into gathering this info for us. If you want to know how a company has treated others, check here. If you want to know if you should even bother to sign up, check here. If you are concerned if the company you are thinking of is a scam, check here.

There are a TON of offers we face daily and we can find out the truth about each of them here on this post at my blog. The fastest way to find what you are curious about is to come here first and then click "ctrl + F."

This opens a little window where you can enter a search word and when you click "enter" it will go to the next matching word in the post. I have used this shortcut many times, I refer to this thread almost daily.

For Example: If I were curious about the Music, Etc offer

I would come here, then hold down "ctrl" then hit "f"
then when the little window popped up, I would enter the word "music"
Every time i hit the "enter" key, it would jump to the next instance of the word "music" until I found the "music, etc" offer and could find out what my peers had found when they signed up for the music, etc offer.

We in the freebie world try to help each other out by sharing our experience with each individual company, and this info is the most helpful that I know of. Bookmark it, and keep it near!

White & Black listed offers (edited 4/3/2008)
How does crediting work exactly? - Crediting is done by pixels and cookies. That's why it's important to clear your cookies before you head to completing offers so the cookie can be deposited and detected easily. There are three major cookies involved. One is placed when you sign in at a freebie site. That's your tracking cookie. Then, one is placed for when you click an offer, sites/publishers can see your clicks because of the cookie. And finally, a cookie is placed when you successfully get to the order confirmation page.
So, when do I clear my cookies? - Clear your cookies before you login or register on the freebie site and not in between offers. If you clear an then complete before each offer it looses the cookies that tracks your site/owner/confirmation ids.
If you insist on clearing cookies before each offer this will log you out of the freebie site, so be sure to log back in and do not clear cookies again. Clear your cookies, log in or register and then do the offers."
Some of the offers may not be around anymore but they do recycle. Please read through here and send me a pm of any good offers and by that I mean ones that credit and offer a answered telephone number, good customer service, no additional charges after discontinuing the autoship programs or auto renewal programs.
If you have any doubt about an offer call the company and ask questions before you complete it!
Read the email confirmation they send to see when the trial actually starts, many of them don't start until you receive it, some start the day you do the offer so make sure you know.
Please know the difference between the trial product and the auto ship, two separate things; you can still receive the trial offer even if you discontinue most auto ships. Call the company and ask them, it was smoking resolution that told me that.
Keep all correspondence and a call list of dates, names, telephone numbers of companies you spoke to if an offer should never arrive so you can ask for a refund because you did not receive the product. My excel spread sheet has fields for you to keep track of the above you can down load it from my website.
00inks: shipping stated to be rather pricey but it has been crediting some people, and some it has not, I leave it on the good list because it does credit.

*** Bags Buy: Was great too, but everything is like $24.95 and up, got a great new pair of sunglasses coming, same free shipping and 10% off, also cr within like 30 mins.-dnjallen2000
*** Bargain offers FYI from Gmario: If you don't do the same ones it should not be a problem, Example Bargain Autos and Bargain Autos will put you on hold. But Bargain Autos and Bargain Homes should be alright. Also from giftmonster.net said the bargain offers are working great so far. As of last week anyway :) 8/01/07 and now they are back as of today 9/22/07, but are they still here in Jan 08?
*** Bargain Homes Credited easily - see this thread for more info -2/8/08 Bargain Network Homes They also have a piggy back offer to wisehousebuyer for $1.25 a month
*** Bargain Auto: Credited easily-- takes some time on phone to the automatic membership renewal, some refs are not getting credit, I leave it on the good offer list because of gift monster supports statement above.
*** Bella Clear: Read this thread for good info cost less than $5 and it credits quickly-however it now says $6.87 on the order sheet and gave me an error when I put in my credit card on 3-31-08 so far no credit but it went through on my card... I chalked this up to a glitch somewhere in the process others have not had this problem.
*** Bidz.com To get credit, you must be a new user and purchase an item. (Price varies. you have a shipping fee of $14.99 plus bid amount) For shipping info Click Here I leave this here because it has credited many people, but the shipping is high IMO.

*** Blockbuster Total Access: Cost: $9.99 Credits: Within 1 Day - 3 Days,
** BMG Music Service: MCR requested so crediting could take a while, Usually cost $8.40 usually credit is given by mcr if accepted.

** Clever Clasp: $21 with S&H and it does credit, (how long did it take) this is an offer you would do a green for green with IMO due to the cost, you get what you want and you get a green for it so you get your money back by cashing in on the referral. But it does credit if the cost is not a concern. You can also buy this at Wal mart for $9.99. Two starts for the price when it is cheaper at Walmart.
*****Colon Complex: $4.95 trial starts day of order. It credited within a few hours!!! Don't confuse it with the other offers close to the same name. I completed this offer myself and it has been fine so far, the company does answer the phone when I called to discontinue the auto ship program, I told them I have not received my trial offer yet but I still wanted it. They said it was shipped on the 15th of Nov, however I did not receive it until sometime between Dec 22sd -Dec 24th.
I was out of town. I have just discontinued the automatic membership renewal only and got a confirmation number also. The hold time on the phone was a little long. Update 12/25 I just received six bottles of the product?! I can not find a confirmation email so I am not sure if I ever got one, I have tried to call but today is Christmas so I will try again tomorrow for an RMA to return this ASAP. They did not charge me for any of these bottles my statement only shows the $4.95 I paid last month. There number is 866-504-8710 email them at complex@custservdirect.com

*** Experian Free Credit: Report $1 actually all these types worked for myself and my referrals but I heard that this experian one was giving error messages, I clicked on two of the pages and they came up so I don't know, if you have an experience please share it. Shipping and handling charges are $5.74 for the first book and $1.99 for each additional book. That's almost $12, on top of the $4 for the books themselves, but don't you get like 4 books, books are heavy to ship, just like clothes, and make great gifts. A good green4green offer.
*** Google SEO: Credited instantly do they hold the monthly fee against your account for a few days to make sure you have the money in case you keep the offer?
*** Google Home Business: Credited- FYI- they will place a hold for $49.95 on your account for five days to make sure you have the money for the monthly fee, it is not a charge, it will come off hold in five days. This however does hold up your money that you could use for another offer.
*** Google Profit Biz: I must say it credited instantly, I received an email confirmation. They do hold 46.97 - which is the cost of the product after the trial, but it does say this in the terms, and in the fine print under the submit button. I didn't have a problem with them either, and I too got the number from my credit card.. Thank you for the information 4/1/08- PJ cdlcbc2000- Quote:I discontinued my membership within the time frame by e-mail ( not my favorite choice) and I did get the confirmation email within 24 hours. I have not seen a charge yet
In addition to sending an e-mail directly to them today , I also submitted the same request on their support contact form at their website. They responded within a couple of hours after I submitted the form on the website. They confirmed my request. I was surprised that they responded so quickly! I just like having written documentation or a confirmation number showing that my request to discontinue my membership was completed.[/quote] There are differences in opinions so here is the thread to judge for yourself based on more opinions-PJ anybody know number to grant secrets revealed?

? Green Tea: offer by Ultima group charged after discontinuing the automatic membership program 2 months later, but they refunded in two days and the bank corrected all nfs charges account. This is the first time this has happened by Ulitma Group, to me.-PJ
*** Great Fun: Credits within 3-5 days. Others like these are simply you, todays escapes, value max, home rewards, shopping essentials etc, it is an online shopping for discounts in your area for things like movie tickets, products and services, restaurants, and gift certificates. If you do other offers like this one, you will get credit even though it gives an error. The error is to keep you from signing up for the second part of this offer (savings smart or savings club) and creating multiple accounts, but the great fun will credit and it also is the same for the others I mentioned. Recently someone was denied credit for this after a month of waiting, what’s up with that, and complete home.
** Green Cine: You may sign up for an account so that you can purchase DVDs or watch Video-on-Demand. There is no monthly fee; you will be charged per each individual transaction. or You may also sign up for GreenCine's DVD rental membership. *** TAKE NOTE ***
The first time you do one of these offers below, you will also create an account for savings smart or your savings club, but the next offer you do like these you will probably get the error I mentioned above for the second part. The offer will credit if you leave your confirmation page up to fully load the cookie images. Don't worry about the error, just make sure to log into savings smart to manage your account from their website separate from these offers, These are our favorites:
Value Max,
Todays Escapes,
Complete Home,
AT Home Rewards,tradermarqs;1212394]latest update for "At Home Rewards" on the MacroBucks sites. I didn't get credit for the offer. I submitted a support ticket and this is the reply from MacroBucks: " At Home Rewards just won\'t listen :-\\, they even proceeded to revoke credits, which is completely unethical on their part. Sorry, it would be great if you could complete another offer to finish off your requirements. Again, sorry for the inconvenience! "
Great Fun
Did I miss any? These are good offers for $1 for a 7 day trial, you log into the website and take advantage of discounts in local establishments and movie theater tickets, and more.
? Hear Me: Has finally started crediting some people
*** History Book Club: Credited within hours in Jan 08'
**** Hydroderm: $5.95, you will need an RMA to return the unused portion, if you decide it isn’t for you, all returns should be done on the 20th day to allow ten days for shipping it back and don't forget to get a delivery confirmation!!!! If you don’t get credit it is something you did sorry, cuz this one does credit fine. TOOK OVER 24 HOURS TO CREDIT only four stars because of return shipping requirements. Now some are reporting it taking 3 days to credit 4-5-08
**** Hydroderm Body ShapE: Credited for me when I did it, and was an ok product, had to return unused portion with RMA and Delivery Confirmation By the 20th day of the 30 day trial in order not to continue with the auto ship program. I did not see any results as claimed. PS this is a manually credited offer so it may take a day or two days.
***** Increase my Margins: I did it and it was great, got credit to, others have also got credited fast, and someone told me they two got credited in like 15 mins. -no email confirmation of order, but they say all info is in the confirmation web page. Most people do get credit it was $4.95 but now it is free according to the new TOS:"By submitting the form I hereby request that Pacific WebWorks, Inc. activate my account and authorize them to advance funds as indicated. I agree to a promotional FREE 14 day trial. I further agree that at the conclusion of the FREE 14 day trial period I will be billed $39.95 per month for the continued use of the Increase My Margins.com website and software. "
***** Investing In Success: Homes for Less: New offer so I am surprised it credited so fast, they are usually some what fickle when new. This is free information and newsletter, credited quickly I would say under 30 minutes!,
? Jillian Michaels: Credits instantly (and when I mean instant, I mean that it was already credited by the time I went to the site and looked within 1 minute). Also, just to let everyone know, they charge your credit card like $60 at first for 12 weeks of the plan, with a minimum 5 week commitment which is $20. If you keep it for the five weeks and then discontinue the auto renewal membership, you will get the difference refunded to you, this is also the same company that offers five factor diet with the same terms.
? Keen: Thanks to Lucky777, I now have info on this offer. " It said it would take about 3-5 days and it took 5...came through fine! I signed up and deposited $10...then had a very amusing 8 minute call with a psychic adviser...and i was done! as long as you deposit some cash you will get credit (or so it says...like I said I did $10) All in all I say its a good offer! They give you 3 free minutes on your first call too!"
*** Kinoki (?) Foot Fetox: Credited instantly also. 3-22-08 but what about CS etc?
** Luster White: It is crediting for some Updated info from one person so far: It credited easily, although to this day I still don't think the product ever came. Even though it never came, they discontinued my automatic membership program with no problem. Recommend offer.
***** Lifelock: Credited same day! Protect your identity for $9 a month or might be $10 everyone loves this offer. It was ten for me, although it stated $9 on the offer my charges are $10.
* Life Script Vitamins: (credited by manual credit right away) you do not have to select the amount of vitamins listed you can just select one and the cost is a lot less, it does credit the vitamins are good too. It says credit in 2-3 days but mine was within one day I believe. Make a purchase. Price Varies. Estimated Time: 2-3 Days. Life script: I never received credit for this one through paypal.OGF, I (PJ) had to get a mcr
* Lipoburn: Several received immediate credit so did I (PJ). Some sites offer MCR's but they normally don't issue the credit but once a month after the 20th.
* Lipoplex With Hoodia: Product was endorsed by Oprah, BBC News, etc. Good News! Good formula and good customer service
*** Literary Guild: Credits instantly on most sites. This is a book club membership. You sign up for the book club and buy 5 books for $0.99 and an option on a sixth book. Not sure about customer service, shipping could be pricey but if you love books it is worth it.
? The Maker's Diet: $4.95 a week, however, they automatically charge you $62.00. You have to apply for a refund if you decide to not renew your membership. Haven't done the refund request yet, but just figured I would put that out there as quickly as possible. It did credit for me, though. From what I read, in no way shape or form did it say it was charging all of that. Okay, billmoneyman -They said that it would take 3-4 days for me to got a refund, but they are only refunding me 49.00 or something like that. Apparently, the first billing trial goes a full month, so you basically pay about 20 dollars for this offer.
Ok he is correct I just read the TOS and it does not say anything about how much the charges are or how they work, but now that we know here it is and it does credit.
? Meet Me Now: Took five days to credit.
** Micro X Helicoper: This offer is on TRAINN sites and it does credit same day. It costs $69.99 plus $13 S&H. Yea I know pretty pricey but this is going to make an awesome X-mas gift for my sons. They are going to love it.-marbleeye

***** Overnight Genius Program For Excel: "lauriespayday - I had it for a couple days, looked it over, decided I wanted to send back disc 1 because I needed to send back one disc to not get charged $75 ish . I called for a RMA and they gave me 15 days to send it back, but I had to send back disc 3. So I went to paypal and printed a postage label. Sent it back in the same box I got it in, with new label taped over the old one. Took it to the blue USPS box down the street and dropped it in.
About 10pm I realized I forgot to put the RMA number on the outside. Holy *&%$!! I sent an email to them, freaking out. Nest morning I had an email from them saying as long as there was enough info with the package to link it to me, I would be okay. Doubtful, I gave it time.
Next day, I had an email from them saying they had successfully canceled out my account and I would not be billed further.
? Cool Beans: I got credited right away, and then I even screwed up and they still treated me right. This is a good company! Added 3-30-08
"You may need to call Overnight Genius to see if they processed the order. This is the same company that does Rising Star I believe. I had to call them because I noticed I didn't get charged or get an e-mail confirmation and they said I already had an account and couldn't open another one"-MCHEEK 2-2-08

? Phonics Reading Program: IF YOU HAVE TODDLERS AGES 3-5 THIS IS AWESOME! It costs $13 a month for 18 months. But in your first order of like $9.95 you get the first set of workbooks, cd's, games, and reading books. In one months time if you do not discontinue your membership, you get the next 4 sets of workbooks, cd's games and reading books. This program is designed to help toddlers get ready for preschool/kindergarten. We've been using this about 2x per week for a month and my 3 year old can read! Basic reading of course but still she sat down and read book 1 called "GO,GO,GO" to me! I was almost in tears.
** PhotoStamps: It is crediting for some people so that tells me that the offer does credit if there are no outside forces going against you :) but now someone said it has stamps.com as a piggy back offer. So now you can no longer to this one and stamps.com however stamps is free.
***** Power Tea: New offer, credited really fast on v-bux for Darkista; and within a few hours on wish4free on 1/21/2008 Darkista called them about the trial and they were great. HOWEVER, they will call you after you order the trial and try to get you to sign up for something else. AND... there was a flyer that came with the Power Tea saying that they had signed me up and paid my first month to Loyalty Savers. There was a phone number for Loyalty Savers and, yup, I was there. I had no trouble discontinuing the auto ship, but I did not like being signed up for something that I did NOT agree to. I am almost sure that this was not in their TOS. I am new so possibly I missed something. Other people in another thread were really happy with Power Tea and said that the product worked too.
? Playphone: Credited within minutes. Decided not to keep it, discontinuing was very easy. You just have to text back "stop" and it is taken care of.
? Pony Book Club: Credited within a day! It costs $9.95- 4.99 to start and 4.95 to ship. Not bad. (I've had several instances with some of my referrals and friends that they did not get charged, its awkward) I didn't get a confirmation email though, but it did credit fast!
? Pricestore: Credited $1 for a free trial sent to me by phjuicy
? PrivacyMatters123: Exceptional offer. 7 day trial and you get a free credit report for trying it. Credits. Instant credit
? Profit From Home: [Online Business Systems (OBS)]: Took 3 days but is OK - they are driving me crazy with phone calls!-Darkista 4-5-08
? Quality Paperback Books: Instant credit, the TOS says that first 2 books are $4 and if you keep the membership over the 20 day trial, you have to get 2 more books for the regular price within the year. Sounds like a good offer
? Quick Books: You do not have to do the merchant account to get the credit that is only if you want the software and you can use quick books online for free from Quick Books themselves. ***** Real Estate Riches: $2.97 Worked great
? Realtystore: ? RealSuperpass: Credits but how much is it ?
? Real Rhapsody: Credits-I had credit and then they revoked it for manual review and then did another offer and got the credit back so I ended up with more credits than I need, see what I get for being impatient. lol but it did take a couple weeks to get it back.
***** RealityTrac: When I did this back in Feb or March it credited me and was free too, but has anyone else done this one?
***** Reunion.com: When I read the offer it was $60. They actually have a 7 day trial for $6.00 + $1.00 counted as a donation to Red Cross. user still waiting for credit as of today 8/24/2007 more on this offer here, but the gist is it does credit
*** Rising Star: I would like to comment on the Rising Star Offer - you MUST discontinue the automatic membership renewal from the date of PURCHASE not the date received! It states it in the terms. You then have 2 weeks to return 1 cd and keep the other two. many people had trouble with this offer because they waiting to long to discontinue their membership. It starts the day your order it not from the day you receive it in my opinion that should be changed because you need time to try it but just keep track.
I gave it three stars for crediting and for those who did discontinue their automatic membership on time it worked well. Also jeiemay said- "I did rising star and got credited pretty much instantly.. I dealt with their customer service and it took real quick to get someone on the phone.. I too returned 1 disc back too them, I liked the program and everything, my daughter is learning her ABC's! Yay.. it was just way too expensive for the CD's... But overall good company."
? Rummy Royal: Credits however you should know that according to Michelle-KCMO "The way that the offer requirements are worded is deceiving, in my opinion. It went something like this~deposit $25 and wager at least $15 in fees. This can usually be accomplished in one day.
When I think of "fees", I thought that was what I would pay to play in each game. For example, if the game cost $3.50 to enter, then I thought that was $3.50 of what I needed to spend. I mean, really, how are we to know that only .10 or .35 go to fees? Very misleading!! Do not do this offer unless you are seriously into gambling. By my best calculations, it would have cost me a minimum of $105 to get $15 in fees." but it does credit. 3-16-08
1/22/2008 member CLNAC has stated the following: 3/5/2008This one here, I deposited $25, played all day and I only had about 3 royal stars so for me to get 15 royal stars when the fees to play each game were like $.35 or so, it would've cost me a fortune so I ended up doing other offers

***** Vitamin Advisor: dnjallen2000 1/20/2008- did it today so I'll post when I find out. If you put in for stress management vitamins, it's really cheap, like $3.60 for 30 days, so I ordered for 90 days of it and total was $16.79 not bad, who couldn't use more stress management.
I did order some nice biz cards though didn't credit me but I think it was my fault

Unless you try to close it and Jenny pops up in her box asking you to say hi, she will offer you a 20% discount to try it. If you click the link inside the box she will take you to a discount page, this will not affect your credits in the least. There was no way to speak with an operator, you pressed a button to discontinue the service. Then I got a call from my credit card company saying they were repeatedly trying to get my card to go through. The company is based out of iceland so that threw up a red flag for my CC company. I told the CC company that I had discontinue the membership, they asked what time of day, I told them, and they said the company had tried to push the charges through several more times after that. I had to cancel my card! This company is far from honest.
Is this the same as pure hoodia x? "Hoodia Diet X"-charged after discontinuing the automatic membership for several people, and they won't take phone calls, and do not respond to emails and they are not a momentum direct company, this is another hoodia offer, same people under different company name.
Someone sent me more info, not good either; Central Coast Nutraceuticals, who sell Hoodia Star and Colo Pure. Reported discontinuing the auto ship part of the Hoodia Star within the 20 day trial period. When they didn't give an RMA number for return they were asked if they needed the bottle back. They said it's up to the customer. Don't assume that meant they didn't need it back in order to stop charges; they charged the full price, they were challenged over the phone by the customer for them for telling her it was up to her whether to return it, without advising they would be charging if not returned. They said told her she should have read the terms of agreement, which she had. They were told she was going to report them to the BBB whom would be interested in their shady practice, and the woman said, "go ahead, and tell them you failed to read the terms of agreement".
Most of this conversation was customer trying to get a word in edgewise with a rude salesperson talking to her like she was stupid. She took the opportunity to the Colo Pure offer she just got, won't even be opening that bottle before it goes back tomorrow! Grrrr! Probably the same company that owns pure health hoodia x and colon detox and rigid magnum.
This is from a very reliable source. -From a reliable freebie Owner: "A lot of the offers are becoming trickier and trickier. My personal pet peeve are the poster pass, magazine burst and Seattle coffee. The owner is a devious and nasty man. He changes the shipping costs weekly to sucker people. I have seen poster pass have shipping as high as $97 for 4 crappy posters.
Quote From: Admin:
They got me for 6 posters and a total of 140 some odd dollars and cents. Ordering the first 4 they suddenly shove 2 more real fast at an even higher S&H. Wal-mart type posters are not even worth 10$ per poster and these posters are not high quality posters that you can get for $15 (thick paper with ace printing and watermarking, similar to Movie House Posters), these posters are Wal-Mart quality cheap replications of the real prints. Not Good and not recommended.
They are owned by PEEL.com and he is tricky, he will put ad up with $9 shipping then when people start joining he raises it. Since not everyone reads the fine print (plus he hides shipping pretty good on the site) so when one user says hey it was $9 they join and get hit with huge prices". Probably best to avoid them all together. Additional DBA Names for the PEEL company and their offers to whatch out for.

? Grant Consultant: needs to be added to the black listed offers until further info is submitted. They are definitely a scam!!! There is a thread going on about it right now. They have bogus phone numbers, they do not reply to you on their email that is supposedly the "contact us" email. They have like 3 or 4 piggyback offers that they charge that ARE NOT in the TOS anywhere. Total scam!!! **BEWARE**3-25-08
? Ivory White: Credited right away. she reports she never got the product and when she called them they said she was lying they sent it on the 4th of August. "I don't know who got it but it wasn't me. The lady was rude and told me the charge for the 2 months wasn't refundable. $78.00 is a lot of money for something you don't have. I told her I was reporting them to BBB and the Attorney general and she said go ahead. That is just what I did. They have 16 bad reports with the BBB right now and are being investigated. They are license as a gift shop. Just thought I'd let every one know". -just a note to keep an eye on your credit card for Ivory White. I discontinued the auto ship program August 3, returned the product August 7 and was charged yesterday for $78.41. My cc company is taking care of it but just be aware.

? Phenterthin: You would be amazed at how many complaints there are out on this one. If you ever do come across the offer in a site, please do not do the offer, but please DO read the TOS to see if you can count the typos, and cut/paste mix and match. It is almost a game to figure out what their intentions are. You get a "free" trial that costs only around $6 (s/h-understandable), that locks you into a guarantee of at least one more months purchase at $147.
The trial lasts for 14 days, and you must send the unused product back in that time to opt out of the auto ship (monthly) program. They will be happy to ship you your sample out in 4-6 weeks. lol. And get this,” feel free to discontinue your membership at any time and your credit card will not be charged”. lol. Just go to a website that we no longer maintain, and submit a ticket. If after you report us to IC3 (internet fraud), we will send you a bill for an "investigation fee", with a threat to discontinue "harassment" with your next shipment."

? Road Loans: I did this offer but it did not credit because I did not accept the loan, it was to much interest and I could not buy what I wanted, a motorcycle they said it had to go for a vehicle.
? Shop Dani: Credited right away- but signs you up to an auto ship program that bills you on the 1st of every month (even if you order at the end of the month & haven't received your first shipment yet). Ok offer, but their TOS isn't very clear. Another person stated-it says join free, order any jewelry for 9.00. They charged the (9.00, but they also charged me 68.00 for a rock bracelet and ear rings that was supposed to be 9.00.
I am sending this back. Refund policy says sand back for a full refund and within 10 days your cc will be credited. If the jewelry was worth it, it might be different, it looks like something you'd buy at the dollar store for a dollar.1/19/2008 I believe this is the same offer as Danielle Janine Jewelry whom also is charging $68 when you do the order instead of $9 3-16-08
? Two Day Slim Down: *A Momentum Direct Company (When I myself did this offer earlier this year, I had no problems whatsoever, but many people have since then. They seem to not have enough stock to handle all the orders they get and this is causing delayed shipments yet the charges do not get delayed and that is a big problem to me.
? Yourmusic: is revoking credits for most people. Reported by site owner a few weeks ago. If things have changed let me know and I will edit this one.

? Just in tonight from Mustang-1/29/2008 I currently have a pending charge of $64.15 from DRI*REG.NET REGNETORD.COM. This is apparently for "Auction Monster" which I haven't done, it must have been an add-on, but a Google search comes up with a few threads:

http://www.anything4free.com/forums/...howtopic=93819
http://www.anything4free.com/forums/...hp/t97153.html [this one is long] It seems like several of these sites are causing problems:
CS Center a.k.a. Make Money with Forex,
Clickbuilder,
SmartNet Development,
Keywords for Success
Grant Finder aka Grant Search Provider
Fast Auction Profit aka Rapid Auction Success
Google Search (Google SEO) And just a note I got from reading one of the A4F threads: you can go to Reg.Net - e-commerce and shopping cart provider if you have a charge from them, input your email address and last five digits of the card you used and it will pull up your orders. That's how I found out what my charge was for. Still working on this, Feel Free to contribute by sending me some you know of.

It Didn't Credit...What do I do now?

Alright, its a sad fact of this business that there will be a certain percentage of offers that you do that, no matter how well you follow the directions:

  • you turn off pop-up blockers and firewalls
  • you clear your cookies
  • you leave the order confirmation page up for at least 5 mins

Yet, you will still end up with some offers that do not end up giving you credit. It can end up being a problem with either the freebie (IFW) site or the offer itself, or just an anomoly.

First of all---you need to know that the crediting times on the advertisements on each site can be misleading.

"Instant" can mean anything from 1 minute to 18 hours.

"Instant to 1 Day" is more honest.

Most of the offers that say 1-7 days are being truthful, I have mostly only done offers that say "instant" so I don't have a lot to offer there.

So~~You've waited 24 hours, now what?

  • Log into the site with your email and password. Depending on the site, the support area you need will be either under "Support" or "Support>missing credit"
  • If there is a link for "missing credit report" or something similar, click that and then be prepared to pick the date you ordered the offer, and then copy/paste the full headers and all of the confirmation email from the offer you completed.
  • If there is no link other than "support," ---For the Subject, write "Manual Credit Request: Title of your Offer" (where "Title of your Offer" is the name of what you signed up for, ie "chuck mullaney's ebay)
  • In the "Body" of the support ticket, you must paste the contents including headers of the "welcome" or "confirmation" email that you received when you signed up for/ordered the product or service. (For instructions on finding the headers of the confirmation email, see below)
  • Once you submit your support ticket/missing credit report, you may have to wait several days before it even gets read, let alone gets sent to the vendor. This is one reason to see the next blog post >>>>>

To find the total headers of the email you need:

  • Gmail: Next to the time stamp at the top right of the email, click on the down arrow to the right of "reply." Left click "show original." It will open in a new window. Just "select all" and "copy" and then "paste" it into the support ticket.

  • Hotmail:1. If you are using the classic version: Once you log in to your hotmail account, (before clicking on inbox), near the top center you will see: You are using the classic version of Windows Live Hotmail.Have a fast connection and want more features? Try the full versionClick Full VersionOnce you see your inbox, find the email you need the headers for.Do NOT open the email. Right click the name of the email, and click on View source. It will give you everything you need to copy and paste. It worked for me!2. If you already use the full version, just right click on the name of the email, click View Source, and it will bring up a page to copy and paste. (thanks to "lostsprings")

  • Yahoo: just click on the email you need the headers for and then click where it says Compact Header (top right corner of the email) and this will bring down a list. Click on Full Header and it will pop up in a separate window. Right click and Select All. Right click again and Copy. Then, Paste to your support ticket/credit request ticket. At least, that's how I do it and it works like a charm! Hope this helps! (Thanks to "premierdreams")

  • Yahoo (2): At the bottom of the confirmation email I have received from an offer on the right is a place that says "full headers". I just click on that. The email is then transformed with full headers and all the info I need. I then copy and paste the whole email and use that. Yahoo makes it really easy!! It must be ok because I have used it in the credit request areas and it is accepted. (Thanks to "lvmtina33")

  • As others give me hints on other email programs I will edit this blog post to help.

Crediting--How Can I Make Sure?

Offers not crediting is the single biggest problem you face in the freebie trading business. Following the steps below will ensure you are doing everything you can to get the credit you deserve. The rest depends on the offer itself and the freebie site. Sometimes, no matter what you do, the offer just doesn’t credit. Follow the instructions below and keep your fingers crossed….

1. Turn off any firewalls, anti-virus, or spyware programs before completing an offer. There are instances in which these programs interfere with the tracking.

2. Disable all pop-up blockers

Internet Explorer

  • On the top of the browser, click on "Tools" and then "Internet Options."
  • A new window should pop up.
  • Click the "Privacy" tab and uncheck the "Block pop-ups box (if it is checked), and then click "OK."

Mozilla Firefox

  • On the top of the browser, click on "Tools" and then "Options."
  • A new window should pop up. Click the "Content" tab and uncheck the "Block pop-ups box (if it is checked), and then click "OK."

Also, check any toolbar add-ons you may have downloaded like google, yahoo, etc. that may have pop-up blockers included.

3. Accept all cookies

Internet Explorer

  • On the top of the browser, click on "Tools" and then "Internet Options."
  • A new window should pop up.
  • Click the "Privacy Tab" and there should be a bar under "Settings."
  • Lower the bar to "Accept all cookies."

Mozilla Firefox

  • On the top of the browser, click on "Tools" and then "Options."
  • A new window should pop up.
  • Click the "Privacy" and then the "Cookies" mini-tab.
  • Make sure the "Allow site to set cookies" box is checked and the two boxes below are unchecked.
  • Also make sure the setting "Keep cookies" is set to "until they expire."

4. Clear your cookies and cache before completing offers

Internet Explorer

  • On the top of the browser, click on "Tools" and then "Delete Browsing History." Click "Delete All."
  • A new mini_window should pop up and you should check the "Also Delete files and settings stored by add-ons" and then press "Yes."
  • Once the mini-window stops deleting files, you can continue

Mozilla Firefox

  • On the top of the browser, click on "Tools" and then "Options."
  • A new window should pop up.
  • Click on the "Privacy" tab and then the "Cookies" minitab and press "Clear Cookies Now."
  • Then click on the "Cache" minitab (right next to the "Cookies" minitab) and press "Clear Cache Now."
  • Complete the offer until you reach the confirmation/completion page (unless stated otherwise in the requirements), and when you are on the confirmation/completion page, STAY on the confirmation/completion page for at least 5 minutes before closing the page.

Internet Explorer is the recommended browser to complete offers as it is more reliable in terms of tracking. Nevertheless, do not use any browser other than IE or Firefox.(b).
